A Playlist For Winter Blues

Hello,

Happy Sunday and Happy (???) Winter.

If you weren’t aware, Chicago is very cold, and I am very sad.

Like can we maybe not do this Chicago? (also this is actually warm compared to the past couple of days)

Plus, the entire East Coast is pretty much buried in snow.

Basically the winter blues are very very real right now.

When it’s cold like this, there’s a very very specific type of music I like to listen to. It’s a mix of like slow acoustic and deep angry songs. I get very frustrated when I can’t find songs that fit my mood.

So I made a playlist of the kind of music I like to listen to when it’s -12 degrees outside and I want nothing to do with leaving my bed.

Concert Buzz: Nick Jonas in Chicago

You don’t know how long I have waited to see Nick Jonas live. I had a crush on Nick ever since he and his brothers sang the American Dragon theme song on Disney Channel. That was almost 10 years ago…. And now I’m an adult with the same tweeny-bop crush. So when Nick decided to stop in Chicago for his tour, I was hovering over the “buy tickets” button minutes before the box office opened.

Concert Buzz: Clean Bandit in Chicago

If you have any doubts about seeing Clean Bandit live, those thoughts are incorrect. On Monday night, Emily (my roommate) and I went to see Clean Bandit at Lincoln Hall Chicago. It’s now Thursday and we still have their songs stuck in our heads. Maybe it’s their fusion of classical and electronic music or their ability to sound just as great live…I don’t know! All I know is that I’m addicted.

Music You Should Be Listening To: Jay Stolar

If you saw my playlist, you know I love Jay Stolar. Like seriously love him.

I discovered him in 2012. The summer before my senior year of high school, which I am now realizing was two years ago which is gross, one of my favorite singers Charlene Kaye announced she was playing a concert in New York City. I texted my friend Hayley and basically told her she was coming with me to the concert.
