We are three college Communications majors from very different parts of the country who all managed to end up in the alluring, charming and enchanting city of Chicago. This blog is our way of expanding our communications skills in addition to voicing our opinions. Enjoy!

Amanda. 19.

I’m Amanda and I am the (mostly) Southern Belle out of us Three Basic Bees. I am from Louisville, Kentucky—horse capital of the world! Isn’t it great then that I am extremely allergic to horses?! LoL!

My idea of a perfect day would include brunch, a good book, a hammock in the shade and a warm summer breeze. I have a few obsessions: One Direction, Princess Kate, Weather, Chicago, my 35mm Film Camera, baking and traveling. One can easily become aware of my obsessions just by scrolling through the camera roll on my phone or glancing at my Pinterest page. Why yes, I do have over a 1,00 pictures on my phone and over 3,500 pins! No shame. None.

I decided to come to Chicago to study Journalism (another love of mine), and I couldn’t be happier! While I do not have a full on southern accent, ride horses (for obvious reasons), or live on a farm, I love everything that has to do with college football and basketball (GO CARDS!), am very picky when it comes to BBQ sauce and always crave a ride my friend’s pick up truck while drinking Sanpellegrino. My life in Kentucky is anything but boring; as is my life in Chicago! Get ready for some hilarious, informational, and mind-blowingly entertaining blogging coming from yours truly as well as my two other amazing bees!

Kelly. 19.

I’m Kelly and I’m the island bee of the group! I am a half Japanese, half drama queen from Honolulu, Hawaii. My obsessions include: Disney, Netflix, trivia nights, sorority life, green tea, ukuleles and dogs.

So far, I have traveled to London (England), Paris (France), Limburg (Germany), Tokyo / Hakone (Japan), Nassau / Cape Town / Kruger National Park (South Africa),  Lima / Cusco / Machu Picchu / The Amazon (Peru), and multiple states in the US. I think we can easily conclude here that I love traveling. My next vacation (January 2015) will be to Rome for a study abroad program! Get ready for lots of pictures.

I moved to Chicago in 2013 to study Advertising and PR. Yes, I turned into a popsicle my first year here (thanks Chiberia…) but I love this city and everything it offers.

With all these big changes in such a short time, it’s nice to have a place that will experience this with me. Plus, I’m co-blogging with the best girls ever, so life is pretty good.

Colleen. 19.

I’m Colleen and I’m the girl from the ‘burbs in the group. I live in Connecticut about an hour away from New York City. I also used to live in Colorado and now I live in Chicago, so clearly I’m destined to only live in places that start with C.

I’m obsessed with coffee, tea, and cute mugs, and the more coffee a mug can fit the better. Also obsessed with Peter Pan, books, food (the spicier the better), music, corgis and boys, but I’m in a committed relationship with ice cream and Netflix.

I spend most of my time wishing I lived in Neverland and trying to be funny. But let’s be real here, there’s no trying I’m hilarious. I’m extremely sarcastic, so never try to get a serious answer from me. I’m a huge Harry Potter nerd and a proud member of the Slytherin house.

Currently my official major is Communications, but I’m still deciding what exactly I want to do with my life which is an interesting adventure. Moving to Chicago and actually living in a city for once rather than living on the outskirts was exciting and I love exploring new places. I’m glad I have my bee’s at my side to explore with me and to start this blog with me.

One time I took a quiz about what kind of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream I am and I got Late Night Snack.
