Lovely Magnolia

There are many approaches to Valentine’s Day. There’s the lovey-dovey option or the anti-love option. Me, I love the celebration of love! I don’t think it matters if you have a significant other, because even if you don’t there are so many people who love you either way! Why not use that day for them?!

Based on this opinion, some friends and I went out on Valentine’s Day to the Field Museum, Qdoba, and to the cutest bakery I have ever been to, Magnolia Bakery.

Magnolia Bakery is located on State Street and has also has an entrance in the Block Thirty Seven Mall.

The bakery started in New York City in 1996, according to their website. They now have locations around the world in places such as Russia, Saudi Arabia and many places in Europe.

After eating our weight in burritos we ventured into the cold towards heaven. We entered the pearly gates into a heated wonderland of baked goods.

Thankfully there are many options of cupcakes, allowing one to cry over each flavor before deciding which one they want the most.

I wouldn't count out people crying about the flavors of cake either.

We “oohed” and “aahed” for a while before ordering.

Our friend Mercedes ordered a Love Note cupcake, chocolate with butter cream icing and a sweet message on top.

I decided to go big instead of going home and ordered a piece of chocolate cake with butter cream icing.

I couldn't stay away from the lilac icing with cute little heart sprinkles.

I told myself that I would save half for later, but that promise went out the window pretty quickly. It tasted as sweet as Valentine’s Day felt!

If you are traveling locally or overseas any time soon, I definitely recommend checking to see if there is a Magnolia Bakery in the area!

Love,

Amanda
